Professional Resources

The following associations are a great way to get your foot in the door, start networking and accumulating knowledge from people working in the field. There are generally discounted membership fees for students, so take advantage of the savings!

Ontario Association of Emergency Managers - For the first year, student membership is free, and student membership for every year after this is 65$.  Register here.
Disaster Recovery Information Exchange - Student membership is 25$ every year and they offer quarterly symposiums. Toronto Chapter. Southwest Ontario Chapter.

International Association of Emergency Managers - Membership is 45$ USD. This makes you part of the Student Council comprised of students globally, as well as the Council for your area.  Register here.

Canadian Risk and Hazards Network (CRHNet) - Membership is 25$.  Register by creating a log in account here, and then accessing the membership page here and adding the student membership to your cart and following the on screen prompts.  CRHNet also produces a magazine called HazNet, accessible here.
